Ozlem Defterli received her B.Sc. degree major in Mathematics and Computer Science and minor in Computer ngineering from Cankaya University (Ankara, Turkey) with full scholarship. After completing her M.Sc. education in Mathematics and Computer Science Program (with full
scholarship) in the same university, she got her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mathematics in Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2011. She has been a faculty member in Cankaya University – Department of Mathematics since 2002. She had been in Michigan State University and SVSU, USA between the years of 2013-2015 as Postdoctoral Research Fellow and conduct research through an NSF funded project. She is involved in some national and EU FP7 projects.
She had also performed managerial duties as Department Vice Chair and Chair in her institution.
Her research interests lie in the areas of numerical methods for classical and fractional
order differential equations, applied optimal control, mathematical modelling and mathematical
biology.
Lecture of PDM:
- 20.11, hours 11-12, Mathematical modeling in cancer research, Ozlem Defterli
In this lecture I will introduce the basics of cancer
dynamics. We will try to understand together how mathematical tools can
help us to understand and represent the biological mechanism of cancer.
